Lindsey and Eli: A Preview.
Childhood sweethearts. That's what Lindsey and Eli are and that was the main topic of discussion when Lindsey and I were going over the details of her day. I think the people that know us from childhood are the people that truly know us, so it's always fascinating to me when we come across a couple with that kind of history. Thanks so much, Lindsey and Eli, for sharing your day with us and for giving us a chance to visit Kosciusko for the first time!

Anyone following the blog has heard me sing the praises of Scott from Scott Burton Photography, and although he brought his usual awesomeness to this wedding, I'm happy to talk about his lovely wife, Emily. Not only did she refer us to Lindsey and Eli, but she has a fantastic home decor and fine gifts shop in Oxford called Miss Punkin's. Be sure to check them both out!

Ali and Richard: A Preview.
A quick excerpt from a conversation with my wife a few weeks back-
Lisa: Was that the mother of the bride you were on the phone with?
Me: Yeah.
Lisa: Wow. You were on there for a loooong time!
Me: Yes we were.
Lisa: You two must have really hit it off!
Me: Yes...yes we did.
Put simply, I was smitten with Ms. Pam (MOB) the moment I spoke to her and couldn't wait to meet the friends and families she had surrounded herself with. They didn't disappoint :-)! Ali and Rich, thanks so much for sharing your day with us! It was a joy and honor that we'll carry for a long time to come.
Technology never ceases to amaze. Ali's sister, Ashlie, had a baby just days before the ceremony and was unable to attend in person, but thanks to a laptop, wi-fi, and skype she was able to see and hear everything from the ceremony to the reception in the comfort of her own home.

The rehearsal dinner was held at the Oxford Conference Center and I was so impressed at how warm and helpful the staff was (ask for Hayden or Micah). Butch and his crew from Taylor Grocery Catering made sure everyone was fed in fine style (I've been known to eat my body weight in his fried catfish). I've been following the work of Danny Klimetz from Captured Photography for a while now and have been wanting to shoot with him for the longest time. If you haven't had the pleasure, run, don't walk to his blog right now! Jefferson Talbot from Talbot Entertainment kept everyone dancing and in high spirits at the reception. He's based in Arkansas but obviously travels :).

Mitchell and Matthew: The Feature.
A quote from Connie Shelton (one of the officiants) during the ceremony, "It started as friendship. Mitchell and Matthew enjoyed laughing together. Gathering with groups of friends and basking in each others presence. It is there in the midst of friendship that love found you. Love surprised you." I think that says it all. Thanks, guys. We loved every moment of this amazing event. Be sure to check out the preview to Mitchell and Matthew's film HERE.

Kayla and Kevin: The Short.
One of the perks of what we do is all the different and interesting people we get to meet. In the case of Kayla and Kevin's family and friends, I'd describe them as flat out good-natured people. From the moment we got to Columbus, everyone was so warm and welcoming. Like a great cup of coffee first thing in the morning only, you know, human :-). Thanks so much Kayla and Kevin for sharing your day with us! Be sure to check out the preview to their film HERE.

Allison and Jamie: A Preview.
Horses and "The Look". Those were the two requests Allison had for us on the documentation of her wedding day. The couple first met on a horse ranch in South Dakota, so getting married at a horse ranch was a no-brainer. They also wouldn't be seeing each other before the ceremony, so it was very important to Allison that we capture Jamie's first sight. I don't think I've ever seen a more earnest expression of love on a groom's face as Jamie looked at Allison. Thanks so much, Allison and Jamie, for sharing your day with us.

I really can't say enough about the fantastic job Claire Kiamie and her team from One Fine Day did. Planning an outdoor wedding is always tricky because of the weather, but Claire handled everything that was thrown at her, and in a manner that allowed EVERYONE (including the vendors) to enjoy the day! We finally got the chance to shoot alongside our good friends Renee and Will Reedy from Renee Reedy Photography & Video. While Renee is an uber-talented photographer, Will is a fellow videophile, so he and I are always geeking out to tech stuff when we're around each other. Renee was even kind enough to loan him out to help me pull off a couple of shots :-). Be sure to check out Renee's blog to see a sampling of the amazing stills these two pulled! Ashley from THE TWISTED TWIG (662.236.9411) masterfully handled the floral design and Allison Becksfort from PAVO SALON (901.818.0773) took care of the hairstyling. The ceremony and reception were both held at Oak Hill Stables, which is fast becoming one of my favorite places to shoot.

Brook and Christopher: A Preview.
DELTA WEDDING!!! It's always great to get back to my birthplace for a wedding, but these two (and their families) made us feel so at home, that I thought we were shooting for one of my relatives. Thanks so much Brook and Christopher for sharing your day with us and stay tuned for more!

Ms. Sally from Sally Shy Event Design did a phenomenal job of capturing what Brook termed as "Vintage Romance". Also, many, many thanks to Ms. Sally for getting us together with Brook and Christopher.
We got the chance to shoot alongside Adam and Allison from Adam Hudson Photography who are not only crazy talented photogs but great folks to hang out with!

Kimberly and Kenneth: A Preview.
On the 46th anniversary of Faith and Fred Roberts' own wedding(grands of the bride), Kimberly and Kenneth were joined in marriage. A marriage that was nearly 10 years in the making! Thanks so much, Kimberly and Kenneth, for sharing your day with us and HOTTY TODDY!

We got the chance to shoot alongside Deryll, Karen, and Elizabeth from Stegall Imagery who did a fantastic job. Paige from Compliments Of You kept everything running like a well oiled machine and Fresh Cut Catering kept us fed while providing the floral design. The reception was held at the Grand Old Post Office in downtown Canton, MS.
